Although disappointed to see the hometown team lose, the fans certainly were appropriately impressed with the dominating, no-hit performance of Medlen. The tension started to build around the 6th inning. By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified. After the 4th inning, neither team was able to score. Jordan Zimmermann(8-6) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 3 runs and 8 hits in 7 innings. 'Medlen made us look bad' David Brooks said. Brownsville had the game winning rally in the 9th inning when they came up with 5 runs on 4 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Corey Hart who silenced Stade Municipal as he doubled with all three runners coming home. Brownsville had 10 hits for the game and Montreal had 7. Josh Collmenter(1-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 and 1/3 innings and allowing no runs. Jon Lester(3-9) was tagged with the loss. After the game, it took a long while before Montreal's manager emerged from his office. In a subdued tone he answered only a couple of questions. He concluded with, 'Fellows, sorry I'm not in a very talkative mood this afternoon, as I think you'll understand. I'm sure you'll find the banter a lot more light-hearted over in the Brownsville locker room.' Kenley Jansen gained credit for his 16th save. The losing pitcher was Ricky Romero(2-14). Scherzer was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'
